Both show choirs did an outstanding job on their performance at Cedar Rapids Washington on Saturday. New Sound was awarded Best Crew, and The Headliners were awarded Best Opener and Best Band. They also advanced to finals and finished 4th Runner-Up.

The top six choirs were separated by a spread of only 5.34 points out of a possible 200. This was our toughest competition of the year, and our kids absolutely held their own against some of the best show choirs in the Midwest. Top six were…

 1: Linn Mar

2: Lincoln SW

3: Wheaton Warrenville South

4: CR Prairie

5: SC East

6: WDM Valley

Huge congrats go out to both show choirs for their performances at Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Saturday.

New Sound had a great show and was awarded the Grand Champion award in the JV division for the third year in a row at this competition.

The Headliners earned awards for Best Band, Best Vocals, Best Male Solo (Austin Clayton), advanced to finals, and were crowned Grand Champions, overall.

Our big “rival” this Saturday was Mitchell (SD). Before Saturday, Mitchell had won nine of the last ten meetings between our two schools. So, this win was extra sweet. Most importantly, the kids worked tirelessly and both choirs delivered victory-worthy performances. On a side note, it was especially nice to see our students supporting and cheering for our cross-town rival, Bishop Heelan.

If you’d like to see the awards, they are taking up a healthy amount of space on Lorri’s desk! Saturday was definitely a great day to be a Raider!
