Congrats to all three show choirs on their performances at Westwood on Saturday!

For the third time this year, both New Sound and The Headliners (picture attached) won their divisions. This is also the third time that The Headliners “swept” the competition, earning awards for Best Vocals, Best Band, and Best Choreography. Additionally, Sioux City East received the People’s Choice award, Juan Gomez received the Best Male Performer award, and – for the fifth time in a row – Nathan Kitrell garnered the award for Best Male Solo.

It was another great day to be a Raider!

Congrats go out to students in New Sound and The Headliners, who both won their divisions in our first competition at Papillion-La Vista South on Saturday. New Sound garnered the Grand Champion award in the Mixed Prep division, advanced to finals, and finished in 5th place, overall. The Headliners received awards for Best Band, Best Choreography, Best Vocals, Best Male Solo (Nathan Kitrell), and Grand Champion, overall.

With these wins, both groups are currently ranked #2 in the state (in their divisions: Tier 1 and Mixed Prep). And, just for the sake of trivia… now two weeks into the competition season, The Headliners are the only group in Iowa to “sweep” a competition (Grand Champion, Best Vocals, Best Choreo, Best Band).

It was a great way to start our season, and a great day to be a Raider!
