North High Senior to be Violin Soloist at Orchestra Christmas Concert
Seventeen-year-old Dakota Dunes violinist Robert Hwang isn’t too nervous about his upcoming performance on the vast stage at the Orpheum Theatre.
Rather, he casually rattles off a few of the orchestras he’s performed with in his short career — public performances aren’t new to him.
“I’ve played (with) other ones too, the Cherokee Symphony, Orchestra Omaha, Fort Dodge,” Hwang said. And don’t forget the Sioux City Youth Orchestra and the Kearney Symphony Orchestra.
Hwang, a senior at North High School, will be a soloist with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra at their “Christmas with the Symphony” show, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre.
He will be playing Antonio Vivaldi’s “Winter.”
This will be Hwang’s first time as a soloist with the orchestra.
