SCCSD receives grant from EPA to replace school buses
Sioux City Schools are getting a grant from the EPA to replace some old school buses.
The $60,000 dollar grant will help the district replace three older diesel-engine buses with newer buses that use more efficient engines and produce fewer emissions.
The grant to Sioux City is one of 16 in Iowa, for a total of $532,000 to replace the 28 older buses.
Nationally, the EPA is handing out more than $8 million dollars in 32 states as part of its work under the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act.
