Students Compete at State Health Occupations Students of America Conference

District high school students in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) captured several awards at the Iowa Spring Leadership HOSA Conference recently held  in Des Moines. Students in the top three places will now go on to compete at the National HOSA Conference in Orlando, FL in June.

Extemporaneous Speaking: Tanisha Adamson (West High), first place; Alexis Henneous (West High), second place; and Haley Felix (West High), third place.

Health Career Photography: Elizabeth Glade (North High), second place; and Faith Harvey (North High), fourth place.

Job Seeking Skills: Debora Allard (East High), fourth place.

Medical Math: Tristan Velazquez (West High), fourth place.

Medical Spelling: Maddie Wilkie (West High), first place.

Medical Terminology: Maddie Wilkie (West High), fourth place; and Kelly Vu (West High), sixth place.

Prepared Speaking: Wajeeha Mariam (North High), second place.
