School Board Nomination Papers Now Available
The 2008 Sioux City Community School District’s school board election will be on September 9, 2008. This year two seats are available. Nomination papers for the school board seats are available at the Education Service Center at 1221 Pierce St. The nomination papers must be filed between July 7 and prior to 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2008.
School board members are locally elected officials charged with
accountability for student learning, determining educational goals,
setting policy, overseeing school finances, etc. They play an
integral part in ensuring the future of all the state’s children
and communities.
