The Operations and Maintenance department repairs and maintains the facilities and grounds for the Sioux City Community School District.

NEW CONSTRUCTION WITHIN OUR DISTRICT:
- 3 new middle schools completed by 2004
- Irving Elementary school completed 2006
- New Leeds and Unity Elementary schools to open in 2008
The new Leeds will replace Lowell, Hawthorne, and old Leeds. It is being constructed on the existing Leeds location next to the elementary school. The new school will be approximately 90,000 sq. ft.
Unity Elementary school will replace McKinley and the previously torn down Grant schools. It is being constructed on the hill behind the old Grant location. The new building will be approximately 90,000 sq. ft.
Upon completion of Leeds and Unity, the next elementary schools will begin at the sites of Smith Elementary and one more yet to be determined location.
