A Little Bit about Me
By Mrs. Hunter
Hi, my name is Denise Hunter. I am in rooms 1 and 2. I am really excited and happy to be part of Nodland School. What a great place to be…
Education and Experiences
I received my BA plus 15 from the University of Briar Cliff and have continued with many more hours of continuing education classes. This is my 32nd year working with young children. My experiences have included 14 years working in the child care profession and for the last 18 years teaching (K-2) for the Sioux City Community Schools. I am currently a district trainer for our Beginning Teacher Mentoring Program (this is my 10th year mentoring)—this is a program that helps new teachers get started with their teaching careers, it is wonderful!!
Personal
I am a local girl. I grew up and went to school right here in Sioux City. My husband Dan also teaches 5th grade in Sgt. Bluff and we have one daughter and son-in-law. Danielle is the Community Director for the March of Dimes for Nebraska. Ryan is a social worker for the state as well.
Hobbies and Interests
I love to walk and have continued to do so in light of my two new knees. I had total knee replacements a few years ago on both knees. All those years of tennis, volleyball, and softball finally caught up with me. I also enjoy reading a good novel, listening to all kinds of music, and watching (old) movies.
