School Board: Board Members

The Sioux City Community Schools Board of Directors

The Sioux City Community Schools Board of Directors consists of seven (7) citizens from the community who are elected to various terms. Meet the current Board of Directors below:

Personal Goal as a School Board Member:
To continue our building program, achieve property tax equity, continue and improve our gains in the area of student achievement and achievement gaps, raise publics awareness of our successes and our challenges
Community Activities:
Active in Masonic Bodies, past Board member of Rivercade, the Sioux City Museum Board, The Crittenton Center, and the Sioux City Boat Club
Current Occupation:
General Manager of Holcomb Trucks in Sioux City, Iowa.

Married to wife, Judy, for 36 years.  Father of two grown children and grandfather to three.

Orpheum Theatre Board, Sustainable Foods Board, Member of Friends of the LIbrary, Library volunteer

Family Background:
Born and K-12 Mason City, Iowa.  Moved to Sioux City in 1993.  Married to Teri Grupp. Two daughters: Mariah and Amanda.  Both attended and graduated from the Sioux City Public Schools.
Community Activities
:
Woodbury County Conservation Board, June E. Nylen Cancer Center Advisory Board, past board member of Friends of FM90, Big Sioux Chapter Alzheimer's Association, New Perspectives, Siouxland Community Foundation and other volunteer work

Family Background:
Wife has been a teacher in the Sioux City Community School District for nearly 30 years.  Son was educated in the district.
Community Activities:
No prior public service before serving on the School Board
Current Occupation:
Manager, Pharmaceutical Technical Services at Gelita, North America

Family Background:
Long time-teacher in the school district; husband teacher/coach in the school district; three sons Dennis, Jeff, and Mike.

Board Member/Past President of Crittenton Center, Past Board Member of United Way of Siouxland, Board Member Siouxland CARES about Substance Abuse
Current occupation: Director, Regional Center for Teaching and Learning at Morningside College

Family Background:  Married to Steve B. Warnstadt for 43 years, who is a teacher in the district; son State Senator Steve H. and his wife Mary Green-Warnstadt are  the parents of grandchildren Stephanie and Jackson
Community Activities:  Member of the Sioux City Museum Association and volunteer at the museum, member of the Friends of the Library, American Legion Auxiliary, Girls of "68, Retired Educators and NAACP
Current Occupation:  Retired teacher

Molly Williams

Personal Goals:   To assist the District in moving forward with its goals of being fiscally responsible and improving student achievement
Family Background:   Married to John C. Williams, CPA.  Five daughters.
Civic and Professional Activities:
President-elect for Siouxland SHRM, previously Vice President of Programming, Chair of the Ethics Committee for the Iowa State Bar Association Business Law Section, Member of the Business Law Practice Manual Committee and Continuing Legal, Education Committee of the Iowa State Bar Association Business Law Section, Past president, vice president, secretary, treasurer of Woodbury County Bar Association (first female to hold each of these positions, past member of the governing councils of the Iowa State Bar Association taxation, probate and commercial law sections, past commissioner (served the maximum of three terms/nine years) of the Iowa State Bar Association Grievance Commission, past board member of the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Finance Disclosure Board, Siouxland SHRM executive board member, Artsplash volunteer, past board member of the Siouxland Community Health Center, American Cancer Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girls Inc., CSADV (and its predecessor, Battered Women), Better Business Bureau of Siouxland, Women Aware, Angel House Pre-School (past president), Siouxland Soccer Foundation (and its predecessor ) (treasurer), Heelan Dance Squad Parents Committee (president)
