SCCSD staff receive special training to help S.A.V.E. lives
On Monday, Sioux City Community School District staff were trained on what to do in the event of a crisis. Chad Sheehan is a former Sioux City police officer and the creator of the S.A.V.E training which stands for shelter in place, awareness, violence stops violence and evacuate. The goal of the program is to increase your chances of survival. Sheehan says, "I try to make people understand how the simple steps actually effectively make you a harder victim."
