Online School Application

Dr. Kim Buryanek shared information about an opportunity for the District to establish an approved
permanent online school. The process starts by submitting an application that must be approved by the Iowa Department of Education. The District will begin work on the design and details of the
permanent online school when and if the application is approved. Because of recent events, Districts were allowed to implement a virtual option this year to accommodate families who are not able to send their students to traditional schools. The District would like to continue this option for students in future years.

The committee members were in favor of the District completing the online school application process.

The next Board Student Achievement Committee meeting is scheduled for September 21, 2020.
