Data Carousel Conversation/Activity

Dr. Jung welcomed the committee and started the meeting, per the committee chair’s request. Dr. Buryanek began a data carousel activity with the committee members. The committee members were split into 3 different groups and located at 3 different stations. Each station had different data. Each group was asked to review the data located at their station, discuss, and provide input by completing a few reflective questions. Each group had the opportunity to review all 3 sets of information pertaining to the Iowa Assessment Data, the ACT 2017-2021 Scores, and the ELA/Math Course Failure for the SCCSD. Following that activity, all members participated in a group discussion, based on the data, where Dr. Buryanek requested the committee’s input for the SCCSD’s Strategic Plan. The input was classified into Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats to help break down barriers for students to be successful. Dr. Buryanek thanked the committee for their input.
