Preschool Initiative Oversight Committee Minutes – June 1, 2022

The Preschool Initiative Oversight Committee (PIOC) met on Wednesday, February 23, 22 via Zoom meeting. Copies of the agenda and minutes from the December 8, 2021 meeting were emailed before the meeting.

Committee Members Present: Kerri Hall, Brian Burnight, Brenda Jenkins, and Rachael Ostermyer.

Discussion Items

Kim Burrack shared she will be leaving SCCSD and Amber Hannah will be her replacement, pending board approval.

IGDIs data was shared by Kim Burrack. There was a 27% increase in the number of students meeting bench mark from fall to spring on the IGDI math screener and a 31% increase in the number of students meeting benchmark from fall to spring on the IGDI literacy screener.

Kim Burrack asked the committee if there were any other items they would like to discuss. Rachael Ostermyer shared that they were seeing a lot of behaviors in children. Brenda Jenkins shared upcoming EC-PBIS trainings offered by AEA in June and the AEA is hosting a summer learning conference in August that will focus on social emotional learning.

Kim Burrack shared that Amber Hannah would be contacting committee members in August to set up meeting dates for next year.
