West High, do you want to help a local charity and your school at the same time? Bring your pop tabs to Scheels’ through Monday, March 18 to help the Ronald McDonald House. The school with the most pop tabs will win a $2000 Scheels’ gift card!
Native American Focus Group will be in the auditorium today from 10-10:30. Nina with PEP will be here so please be on time!
There will Not be Focus Group with Mrs. Gentry on Friday, she will meet individually with some of the students.
Saturday School will be held Saturday, March 16 from 8AM – Noon. If you are failing a class or need extra help, you should plan to attend. The Bear’s Den Food Pantry will be open this Saturday from 8AM – Noon as well.
Spring Fling Tickets are on sale now! Come in before school starting at 7:35 or after school in room 206/207!
The Spring Fling is just around the corner! March 16
The following are the eligibility requirements for students to attend the dance:
Passing all classes
Completion of Naviance
No more than 7 tardies in third quarter
No OSS in 3rd quarter
90% attendance (began Feb 11)
If you are bringing a guest that is not a WHS student, please stop by the front office to pick up a guest approval form.
Attendance appeals can be made by setting up a meeting with your grade-level principal:
9th – Mr. Koch
10th – Ms. Rieken
11th – Mr. Pace
12th – Mrs. Tidwell
Beyond the Bell is looking for volunteers to help with their Mobile Food Pantry at Hunt Elementary. This takes place every 3rd Tuesday of the month. from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.
(Dates: March 19, April 16, May 21)
Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue is looking for volunteers during the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month. Hours are Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Location is Pet Smart at Lakeport Commons.
Are you working on earning your Silver Cord or meeting community service requirements? VolunteerSiouxland.org is the place to go. This is an online volunteer center for Siouxland, and there are now more than 100 nonprofit organizations on Volunteer Siouxland, with more than 50 active needs for volunteers on any given day. It is absolutely the EASIEST way for students to find and sign up for volunteer opportunities. It is also the easiest way to track their volunteer hours – confirmed by the organization. We have even added a field to volunteer profiles so they can identify which school they attend, allowing us to provide reports to the schools.
