WHS Daily Announcements 5/29/19
All National Honor Society Members and Candidates, please pick an area and recycle this week before leaving for the school year. The bins are full. If you do not know how to recycle, stop in room S 108 or ask a member for help.
To help your last week go smoothly and quickly, please do the following:
–Clean the computer and remove ALL stickers on your charger and laptop before you check-in.
–You recently completed a pre-check and filled out your form during your English class. If you lost this, you will have to do the computer damage check again.
–You can check in your laptop after your last final. Don’t turn in your computer early, you will not be given another laptop for finals. However, don’t wait until the very end. Avoid the rush!
–You can stop into the library to pay any lost book fines you have anytime. Make sure you get a receipt and keep it for your records.
After-school tutoring is available Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00 – 4:00 PM in the media center.
Summer School Registration has now begun. If you have failed a core class and are wondering if it can be made up in summer school, please see your counselor to get signed up. Summer school begins on June 3 and ends June 28 and will run from 8:30 to 11:30 at West High School. If you have any questions about summer school please see your counselor.
West High Football is working for tips on Wednesday, June 5 at Pizza Ranch on Floyd Blvd. Stop out and support our awesome football team!
Please check with the front office if you have lost any items such as keys, phones, wallets, debit cards or glasses. We have several items that need to be claimed.
LaunchPad Children’s Museum is looking for volunteers to help with events. Check out their website or email email@example.com for more details.
Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue is looking for volunteers during the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month. Hours are Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Location is Pet Smart at Lakeport Commons.
Are you working on earning your Silver Cord or meeting community service requirements? VolunteerSiouxland.org is the place to go. This is an online volunteer center for Siouxland, and there are now more than 100 nonprofit organizations on Volunteer Siouxland, with more than 50 active needs for volunteers on any given day. It is absolutely the EASIEST way for students to find and sign up for volunteer opportunities. It is also the easiest way to track their volunteer hours – confirmed by the organization. We have even added a field to volunteer profiles so they can identify which school they attend, allowing us to provide reports to the schools.
