The Sioux City Art Center has selected two Bryant Bears to display their artwork at the annual Youth Art Month Exhibition. Ider Caal-Mendoza (Third Grade) took home 1st place in his class category and Jimena Perez (Fouth Grade) took home 2nd place in her class category.
Each artist was presented an award during a ceremony on Sunday. Their work will be on display through April and then at all-school show in May. Congratulations Ider and Jimena; way to represent Bryant!

Today starts National School Counselor week and we have one of the best! We appreciate Ms. Jen for everything she does for students, staff, and families. She supports academics, social/emotional and career skills for all our grade levels. Help us to celebrate Ms. Jen!

Today on this 100th day of school we also started our ELPA testing. Students had an assembly to learn about how they could "level up" on their assessments. They also heard from a fellow student who tested out of the program!

6th grade counselors from North Middle School came earlier this week to meet with our 5th grade students. They shared information about the Middle School day and classes that students could choose from. 5th graders then got to select courses.

Sergeant Sands and Deputy Lenz from the canine department came to visit our second graders today. Our students have been reading Officer Buckle and Gloria during their Literacy block. This was a great chance to learn about the roles of canines in our police department!

Due to the wind chill and ongoing snow removal at our buildings from the recent storms, there will be no school tomorrow - Monday, January 15 - in the Sioux City Community School District. All activities are canceled. The first semester will still end on Wednesday, January 17. Thank you.

On November 7, you will see an option for the Sioux City School District public measure on your ballots. This measure will not cost you additional money, but it allows us to continue using the current 1 cent sales tax to support our schools through 2050.
