Leeds Elementary students have been doing different things to show kindness.

From helping put together a kindness tree to writing thank you notes to different school staff.

School officials say this has become a great way to spread kindness and teach an important lesson to the students.

“You know I don’t think you can ever have enough kindness in the world. There are bad things happening all around us all the time. If we can learn to see the good and be kind to other people and really just work hard to treat other people the way we want to be treated it’s just really important to teach our younger generation that,” said Stephanie Roskilly School Counselor Leeds Elementary.

Through this event, students at Leeds got the chance to share what kindness means to them.

“It means like sharing love around,” said Ben, a 5th grader at Leeds Elementary.

“I kind of feel like well it means well it makes me feel good to do kind things and when people do kind things to me,” said Ana, a 5th grader at Leeds Elementary.

The official date for “Random Acts of Kindness Day” is Feb. 17 each year.
