Sioux City, Iowa – Four-year ROTC college scholarship opportunities have been enhanced for Air Force JROTC cadets.

For the second year, Headquarters Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (HQ AFJROTC), in conjunction with Air University (AU) and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), is supporting a ROTC scholarship program which recognizes the character and leadership developed in AFJROTC. This effort makes pursuing an officer’s commission in the United States Air Force while earning a college degree a reality for many cadets in AFJROTC, the Air Force’s most diverse program.

The J-100 AFJROTC Character-in-Leadership Scholarship (J-100) will provide 100 cadets a full four-year ROTC college scholarship, including room and board at colleges across the country.  Students must meet both academic and physical fitness standards.

The program utilizes an established ROTC scholarship application process with finalists meeting a Leadership Evaluation Board (LEB) to determine the final scholarship awards. This opportunity is available to high school seniors who are active AFJROTC cadets and have completed two years of JROTC before graduation. Cadets must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, a strong PFT (physical fitness) score and an ACT/SAT of 22/1100 or above.  Qualified JROTC seniors with an interest in four-year college scholarship and a desire to be commissioned as an Air Force officer are encouraged to contact their JROTC instructor to begin the application process.

Nominations close on November 19, 2021.
