Advanced Placement Classes

College-Level Curricula and Exams

Advanced Placement is a program of college-level courses and exams that give high school students the opportunity to receive advanced placement and/or college credit. Students are required to take the AP Exam upon completion of all AP courses in order to earn credits. A minimum score of 3 or 4 on the AP Exam is required to receive college credit. The number of college credits awarded for each course below is subject to the individual college policy, department review, and approval. The number of high school credits for each course is listed below.

  • AP American History – 2 credits

  • AP Biology – 2 credits

  • AP Chemistry – 4 credits

  • AP Computer Science A – 2 credits

  • AP English Language and Composition – 2 credits

  • AP English Literature & Composition – 2 credits

  • AP Environmental Science – 2 credits

  • AP European History – 2 credits

  • AP Music Theory – 2 credits

  • AP Psychology – 2 credits

  • AP Spanish Literature & Culture – 2 credits

  • AP Spanish Language & Culture – 2 credits

  • AP Statistics – 2 credits

  • AP Studio Art: Drawing – 2 credits

  • AP US Government & Politics – 2 credits
