School staff will notify a student’s parent or legal guardian as soon as possible under the circumstances when the student becomes ill or injured at school or at a school-sponsored event.
The District, while not responsible for medical treatment, transportation or medical expense of an ill or injured student, will have staff present to administer emergency or minor first aid if possible. As quickly as possible, an ill or injured child will be turned over to the care of their parent/legal guardian(s), alternate contact(s), qualified medical employee(s), or emergency medical services.
Parents/legal guardians shall be provided and required to provide health and safety emergency information, including contact information, through the registration process at the beginning of each school year. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure this information is updated as needed during the school year.
