Sioux City, Iowa – Students and patrons of all ages will be asked to take the pledge “Don’t Text and Drive” in association with the stage production Footloose: The Musical, on stage at Sioux City North High March 31st through April 2nd.

“Everyone knows the story of Footloose and the town that banned dancing. But we tend to forget that the story beings with a tragic accident that caused that ban to happen in the first place,” says Tim Hess, the musical’s director. “As part of our annual spring musical community outreach, we’re asking our students and their parents to pledge to be responsible drivers and prevent such a tragedy from happening in our town.”

Students who take the pledge may purchase a silicon thumb ring emblazoned with the words DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE.

The award-winning Sioux City North High Drama program presents FOOTLOOSE: THE MUSICAL March 31-April 2 in the North High Auditorium.

Performances are scheduled for:

Thursday, 3/31 @ 7pm Friday, 4/1 @ 7pm Saturday, 4/2 @ 2pm & 7pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and are available at the door or in advance at showtix4u.com/events/NHS.
