During a Champions indoor football game between the Sioux City Bandits and the Billings Outlaws, something happened in the stands that seemed to have caught the most attention – a ball hopped over the wall and into the stands, where an adult wrestled it away from second-grader Braylon Littlegeorge.
After finding out about what had happened, a few of the Bandits players went to Sioux City’s Liberty Elementary School to surprise Braylon and try to make things right.
Players Lenwood Joyner, Kamal Cass and Daniel Small paid Littlegeorge a visit during class to drop off a care package containing a signed football, a signed hat, a flag, a t-shirt and tickets for the remainder of the 2022 season, all courtesy of the fan who took the ball from him.
“We really just wanted to make things right and make sure he felt good, especially after finding out that was his first game. We were able to smooth it over and get him those tickets for the rest of the games,” said Bandits Offensive Lineman Daniel Small. “He’s just as important as I am as a player, as a fan. Without him, there’s no need for me.”
The Bandits have three home games remaining in the regular season and Mr. Littlegeorge will be able to see the team take on the Omaha Beef, Salina Liberty and the Rapid City Marshalls.
